Since debuting with a summer of sold-out DJ residencies, Ibiza’s [UNVRS] nightclub, has redefined nightlife on the island by integrating world-class music with immersive art. Dubbed the world’s first ‘hyperclub’, the venue has wowed partygoers with cutting-edge technologies like the Holosphere 2.0, an 8-tonne, 8-meter-tall sphere covered in custom transparent LEDs for 3D hologram effects.
So expectations were high for the [UNVRS] 2025 Closing Party, an epic 12-hour zenith to the club’s first Ibiza season. Featuring sets from ANOTR, Anyma, Black Coffee, Peggy Gou, Rampa and more, the event needed to make full use of [UNVRS]’s advanced technology, setting a new standard for the future of clubbing.
To deliver the immersive visuals needed for such a spectacle, [UNVRS] called on creative production studio High Scream. Content Director Pol Fernandez and his team utilised three Disguise GX 3 media servers, Disguise's Designer software, and an AV hardware setup supplied by PRG to create the closing party of a lifetime, all in just six weeks.
The challenge
The main challenge involved in delivering the visuals for [UNVRS]’s closing party was managing the sheer scale of the event. With DJs performing from 12am until 12pm, High Scream’s team needed to create a multitude of virtual environments to serve as LED backdrops across the venue’s walls, including a 20-metre circular screen on the club’s ceiling.
On top of that, each environment had around 30 variations, all rendered above 8K resolution to maintain absolute realism. This meant managing 10 terabytes of show files, a new record for Fernandez and his team.
Making use of [UNVRS]’s unusual architecture to create a grand finale was another challenge for the team. They knew they wanted to utilise [UNVRS]’s 10 x 24 metre cathedral-shaped windows which were set to open for the final hours of the party, giving clubbers a perfect view of the Ibiza sunrise. But they also wanted to utilise these windows throughout the performance to blur the lines between digital and reality - meaning visuals had to be perfectly mapped and adaptable to the changing weather conditions outside.
The solution
Fernandez’s team decided to recreate the windows using transparent LEDs in the lead-up to the big reveal, and create a narrative around a journey through the universe. Each virtual environment they created was tailored to each DJ’s set, and displayed on the window LEDs to give the illusion that the otherworldly landscapes were just outside the club. For Black Coffee, a lush green environment was created to complement the music’s vibrant aesthetic, while a brutalist scene of floating rocks accompanied Vintage Culture’s deep house sound.
“We created virtual recreations of the actual windows so that when they opened for real, screens along the sides of the room would display the same sunrise,” Fernandez explains. “Even with the summer season’s reliable sunshine, predicting the morning’s exact weather was difficult. We created several different variations so we could pick a match on the day. Immersion was absolutely crucial to the experience, and if even one partygoer spotted that the virtual windows weren’t real, the illusion would be broken.”
Disguise saved us countless hours. Being able to use Designer from a laptop and go anywhere in the venue to see all the different angles and make adjustments on site was an incredible advantage.

Fernandez knew from experience that Disguise GX 3s were the only media servers that could support the amount of content and mapping needed for [UNVRS]’s 12-hour closing party, and Designer was the only software that could enable him to manage it.
“With Designer’s Sockpuppet feature, which fully implements DMX, OSC and HTTP controls, I could manage all the content across every LED display at the venue, directly from the MA,” Fernandez reveals. He explains that to create the virtual windows, the team took photos and scanned the club’s real LED panels. They then recreated them all in 3D, so that the virtual windows would look like they were lit from behind, rather than by the displays themselves.
“Thanks to the Perspective Mapping feature, I was then able to map the virtual environments onto the surface of 3D windows in the software, with the specific vantage point of the virtual camera,” Fernandez adds. “This really helped us keep everything flexible, as instead of creating content for a pixel map, we were able to adjust things on site, which was really nice.”
The results
[UNVRS]’s 2025 Closing Party was a sold-out success. Clubbers were immediately enraptured by the venue’s enveloping visuals and sharp surround sound. So much so that the party continued beyond its 12pm closing time, and remained packed until the very last note of music played for the 2025 season. Throughout it all, the High Scream team were able to save time and free up more space for creative thinking by using Disguise.
The GX 3 is the only media server I would trust with a project this colossal - the Disguise solution gives us the power to redefine the clubbing experience for many years to come.
