Fast Company names Disguise as World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024

Fast Company

We have been named in Fast Company’s prestigious list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024, joining the ranks of Nvidia, YouTube, OpenAI and more - currently ranking at #4 in Augmented and Virtual Reality. This accolade is the latest following two Emmy wins, recognising the rapid growth, innovation and adoption of the Disguise platform in film, broadcast, live concerts and immersive experiences across the world.

With a 20-year history in live events, Disguise is the leading platform for delivering the next dimension of entertainment. It exists as an ecosystem of software, and hardware technology that helps users plan and deliver every pixel to perfection for show content. This, together with our Cloud platform for greater collaboration and creative services division as well as the ability to integrate into other toolsets and AI technologies, makes us the end-to-end platform for bringing the wildest creative visions to life.

Disguise powers over 600 productions each year including live concerts for Adele and Ed Sheeran, Nike and Lightroom immersive experiences, Disney and ESPN broadcast studios, and blockbuster films like Top Gun: Maverick to name a few.

Our virtual production workflow, while it has only been in operation since the beta version was released in 2020, it has become widely adopted with the number of Disguise-powered virtual production stages rising from just 2 to over 400 worldwide in just three years.

With this workflow, anyone can create real-time visuals that can be seen on LEDs on set. That means directors can display sunsets that last all day, put their actors on the surface of Mars, and more – all at the click of a button. Film studios can become “greener”, reducing the need to build hard sets for each show and do on-location filming while also cutting around 30-50% in production costs.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognised by Fast Company as one of the world’s most innovative companies,” says Disguise CEO Fernando Küfer. “This is a testament to the dedication from our team, partners and community in forever iterating, improving and evolving to make the Disguise platform the game-changing tool it is today. With this and two Emmys under our belt, our drive to empower the next dimension of powerful visual experiences is clear. We have lots more innovation up our sleeves and we can’t wait to see what creatives will do with it in the years to come.”

The World's Most Innovative Companies stands as Fast Company's hallmark franchise and one of its most anticipated editorial efforts of the year. Fast Company's editors and writers identified the companies driving progress around the world and across industries, evaluating thousands of submissions through a competitive application process. The result is a globe-spanning guide to innovation today, from early-stage startups to some of the most valuable companies in the world.

“Our list of the Most Innovative Companies is both a comprehensive look at the innovation economy and a snapshot of the business trends that defined the year,” said Fast Company editor-in-chief Brendan Vaughan. “We saw extraordinary innovation across the board in 2023, but we also saw a handful of clear patterns: the growing footprint and impact of AI, the triumphant return of live events, and great leaps forward in climate tech. We face daunting challenges on many fronts, but the solutions we celebrate in MIC give me plenty of hope about the future.”

Disguise will celebrate the win during Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies Summit and Gala on May 16.
